About

We are operators who became advisors. That order is everything.

The most important strategic decisions at growth-stage software companies are too often made without anyone in the room who has actually made them before. Halo exists to be that person.

Diagnosis before prescription

We do not arrive with a playbook and force you through it.

We start by finding the real constraint, not the symptom everyone is talking about. Then we design the path. Then we stay in the room until it is working.

01

Diagnose

We go deep on the business, market, and team to find what is really in the way.

02

Design

We build the strategy and the prioritized plan to reach the next stage.

03

Execute

We stay embedded and make it real, through the board meeting, the launch, the hard call.

The operator behind the firm

Jason Weaver, Founder and CEO

Jason founded Halo after three decades of building, funding, and selling software companies.

He is a three-time founder. He has raised roughly $100 million in venture and growth capital across his own companies and others. He built and sold Shoutlet, an enterprise social platform now part of Khoros, and Spendsetter, a social loyalty platform used by brands like Cracker Barrel and Nissan.

His strategic work runs deep: helping bring BLOX to life at Lee Enterprises, guiding Sonic Foundry's sale to Enghouse, and leading product and strategy today for MV2 and URLgenius. He has been published in Forbes, USA Today, and McGraw-Hill.

He started Halo because he kept watching talented teams make the same expensive mistakes, and he knew the right partner in the room could change the outcome.

Why we are a firm, not a freelancer

Halo is built to outlast any one person.

Our methods are documented. Our frameworks repeat. The judgment we bring is being built into an institution, so Halo can serve the next generation of software companies long into the future. That permanence is part of what we are building, and part of what we offer the companies who trust us.
